If you have planned to visit Singapore or you have just arrived and now need some “Real” guidance, then you cant rely on the wide mass of crappy travel guides out there.

Here is a list of travel guides that I personally consider as the “top notch” of Singapore guides. I used all of them myself, and can guarantee you that they will help you with getting started in Singapore.

1. The Newest: Michelin Green Guide Singapore

  • + Good rating, including the newest spots and trends
     - Not too much info for the budget traveler

Published in Oct 2008, this is the first famous Michelin Guide published for Singapore and its attractions alone.

The travel guide rates Singapore’s different attractions and sight seeing points through the well known star system as used in their famous restaurant guides.

     - Some old Maps and not so “insider” anymore

Lonely Planet, just the name alone does its magic.

Once considered as the ultimate backpackers bible, the Lonely planet guides have established themselves as the standard competitors have to reach for.
    Very helpful.

5. The Best Map: Singapore MiniMap

‘Eat, Drink & Be Merry: Singapore’, published by Page One (same people as the big bookstore in Vivo City) is a fantastic insider’s guide. And really beautiful presentation too. I’ve been in Singapore for about a year, and it really sparked me into rediscovering the place. Best book out there.
