I never had problems getting into any club on this island called Singapore. Be it the local Thai Disco at Golden Mile or some uptown club in the city district.
So i was even more surprised when I met up some old friends that were stopping over in Singapore and they told me how hard it would be to get past the door into clubs here.
What had happened?

After 3 years of spontaneous self-healing and strictly avoiding the Singaporean doctors I finally met the Men In White last week, and only because of a flue, what a shame!

It’s not that I don’t like doctors, but I have a long trail of extreme sports history (and accidents) behind me, and at one point your level of pain-taking goes up while your sensitivity for your own care goes down.

Uh!? 40 Dollar??
And I thought cabs are cheap here in Singapore, that was a 5 minute ride from Raffles Place to City Hall and now I have to pay more then for my last tax bill?

Don’t worry! Singapore is indeed a very cheap place to travel via cab from the West coast to the East or upside down, but there are many extra charges and fees that will apply to all thinkable different occasions.

Having a nearly perfect train system already, people in Singapore have the additional advantage of flagging down some 15.000 air conditioned cabs day and night, 24 hours.
They will bring you home for less then a single bus ride costs in Germany. They are cheap, you can have amusing chats with your driver, and in 50% of your journeys they know the way.

How do you know we have a rainy Singaporean morning the moment you wake up? If you find yourself tucked away under the blanket and its still dark outside, well gray. This morning I thought my alarm went off too early and I forgot to switch off my Air-con last evening, but no, “Oh Happy day! Its raining!”

Yesterday I Was Lost In China Town. And what sounds like the title of some bad Indiana Jones Rip-Off movie, actually turned into a serious problem when it started to pour down rain into the narrow alleys and my expensive suit went from “soaked in sweat” to “body-fitted Borat-Outfit” within seconds.

Now thanks to Singapore’s free W-Lan, I was able to connect my mobile phone’s GPS to some satellite that kind enough accepted me knocking on his door, and promptly sent back directions to my hand phone, getting me out of that mess.
