What?! Nah! Personally I feel that pizzas served in bars or pubs just suck. Pizza should not be served as finger food; it's a full meal.

Timbre and Walla Walla pizzas, I've tried them and all of them suck and are extremely overpriced.

I'm still yearning for good ol' New York style Pizza with abundant toppings. I don't mind paying more but don't give me pathetic amounts of toppings to make me feel that I've been cheated or scammed.

i very much agree for timbres to have one of the best pizzas in town. i could still enjoy it as much as it just got served and when its already 32 mins after. although i do have to point out that getting the staffs attention can be a chore! i dnt know, maybe theyre just pissed off at the crowd they usually get (students from the area) and ive noticed that they really acknowledge their colleagues and friends who patron but seriously, its a good thing that they have great pizzas and an awesome band but they might need to do better than that if i have already kept on recommending their place to my foreign friends who's visiting. after all, bottom line, its all SERVICE. but kudos on the food

Timbre is donating half the bill to The Substation tomorrow night (Tues 1 Dec) at Timbre@The Substation and Timbre Mobile (East Coast) if you say you're there for Dine Out for Art or The Substation. Grab a bunch of friends, have a great night and support both Timbre and The Substation at the same time! (I'm from The Substation!)

Pizzas at Timbre are okay but absolute not the best in town. Walla Walla don't deserve to be on the list at all! How do you can forget pizza's from the best italian chefs in Singapore, we have plenty of them and they all MUCH better then the Timbre or Walla Walla sh*t...

Well, a German reviewing Italian restaurants is like an Italian reviewing German restaurants :-)
Actually as a purist I don't consider finger-food pizza as the real deal.
I have tried 3 out of these 5 joints and when I saw Timbre in pole position, I literally did a somersault on the couch. It was ok, good with a beer, but that does not register as GOOD. You are reviewing more the setting than the food itself, then its a good place, I agree.
Da Paolo has several joints along Holland Village and I had pizza in La Terrazza, if my memory does not betray me, but that was a bad job of a pizza.
Where to get a good pizza? Virtually every Italian restaurant here in SG, excluding the Salvatore chain, makes really good food. My recommendations are for "da Donato" who runs a small pizza place selling it by the slice, off Sixth Avenue. That's really great pizza for the sake of pizza. I also love Al Forno and Etna, both on East Coast Road. As long as they have a firebrick oven, they cant really mess it up. The rest, please........
