Last weekend I visited the rather low (very low in fact) marketed Food Festival at the new Harbour Front and one of the only good things that came out of it was this Hot Dog by Iconic H. Since most food vendors had left the empty “Festival” early on Sunday due to the total lack of visitors, it wasn’t hard to scan through the still standing ones and figure out where the queues were the longest.
Being in Asia that’s the easiest clue you will get that something is good. Iconic H draw the crowd, so it caught my attention too.
Apparently this is a small German Bakery in Hung Hom, that has made itself a name for providing one of the cities best Hot Dogs. Even though I am German, and have never seen a Hot Dog being offered in a German bakery before, when my eyes caught the sign reading “Pineapple and Cheese” there was no returning back anymore.
The Hot Dog arrived piping hot and literally swimming in Cheese, the sausage was flanked by four slices of pineapple and the whole thing was devoured within minutes.
I usually don’t like paying 50 HKD for a snack when you can get a full meal for that in most other countries of the world, but the amount of cheese alone made it worth it. Thumbs up for Iconic H (even though I don’t get the name really).
