Two Different Kinds Of Gas Supply

1. Regular Gas Pipe, connected to the Singapore’s Gas Supplier Network 2. Individual Gas Bottle directly connected to your kitchen, without any connection to a supplier network


Instructions For Regular Gas

1. Apply For Gas Utility Account

You need to apply for a Gas-Utility account at the governmental gas supplier for residential’s “City Gas” first. Their accounts are managed SP Services Ltd.

Prepare the documents you have to submit first, download them here and then apply via one of the following ways:

  • SMS - [Send SMS OPENACC to "71777"] Documents are submitted through technician

The activation of your utilities shouldn’t take longer then between 1 and 3 business days upon submitting your application and payment of the resp deposit fee


2. Turn On Gas

Once your gas account is activated you need to make an appointment for CityGas to let a technician turn-on your gas line.

This can be done online HERE or via phone at 1800-5551661 for an appointment after receiving our email confirmation on the account opening.

If your gas appliances are preinstalled this will cost you 30 SD and you are ready to go. If you need further installation this can be up to 100SD. All other details about rates can be found HERE

Your are setup, registered, your gas line is switched on and the plates are heating up nicely. All you have to do is pay your monthly bill (approx 21 Cent per kWh) and the meals should keep on coming.



Instructions For Bottled Gas

New Or Refill?

It is very likely that your kitchen, if powered by a bottled gas supply already has a gas bottle in place.

In this case you usually only have to call the respective company responsible for that gas bottle (details usually to be found on the bottle) and ask for a refill.

Your gas will usually be available within the same day and shouldn’t cost more then 20 SD.

In case you don’t have any gas bottle in place, see the following list and call the gas supplier of your choice for a new installation of a gas bottle, which usually also gets completed within the same day.
