Paintball

Paintball Training in Singapore Paintball in Singapore is kind of a pain, literally...I was suprised that in a country were you get fined for having TicTacs in the subway (yes i did) you can find Paintball Arenas to let your angers go and stupidly shoot each other. Im not complaining, no, im glad they exist, who knows what else i would probably damage instead...

No Rambos Here

Although it isnt really the nature of the locals to go Rambo on each other and compete in a embitious hide and seek / capture the flag scenario, the paintball places are all very professional and i would say up to date.

In total there are 3 Places in Singapore which are all located in the North of Singapore, due to the space and probably lower rental prices.

For all 3 you have to make reservations before turning up. Details are all below.

What To Bring

I dont know why, but somehow it can be cool all over Singapore but those Paintball fields seem to ly under some invisible layer that keeps them hot and very humid. Most important is to bring water. You will need it. Furthermore bring a complete second set of clothes (all 3 places provide shower facilities), you will be most likely covered in neon colored stains when you have finished and no cab uncle will let you near his car like this. And because all the paintball fields are more or less not accesable by MRt or food, you will need a cab if you dont want to spend a night between guns and riffles.

Usually the protection you get is enough to cover your face and your upper body, but its very advisable to wear long sleeved jeans and a long sleeved tshirt or similar. Furthermore you might want to consider wearing a kerchief or scarf for neck protection. In every game i played so far, at least one person got shot in the neck, including me...and its kind of painful.

For payment bring cash since the places wont have nets or credit card readers (they are located more or less in the middle of the jungle)

The 3 Locations

TAG Paintball
TAG Paintball in Singapore Homepage: www.paintball.com.sg
Reservations: 6324-0038 / 9662-0038 / online booking available
Tell the Cabby: Orchid Country Club
Nearest MRT: Yishun MRT
Prize: 65SD (250 Balls) (different packages available)
Minimum Players: 6
Opening Hours: Daily 9AM to 12AM

There is 1 field here which is compared to the other Paintball places quite big. Game modes played are only Capture the flag but the average length of one round is longer compared to the other places because of the field sice. The personal could be a bit more nicer but overall a quite nice arena, good markers (weapons) BUT quite difficult to access. There is no MRT station nearby and just alone the cab ride will cost you an average 15SD from the city center.

Red Dynasty Paintball

Reservations: 6755-7537 / 9061-0760
Tell the Cabby: Bottle Tree Park opposite Yishun Stadium (81 Lorong Chencharu)
Nearest MRT: Kathib MRT (walking distance 10mins)
Prize: 50SD (250 Balls) (different packages available)
Minimum Players: 6
Opening Hours: Mo-Fri 9AM-9PM,Sat-Su 9AM-7PM

This is the newest place in Singapore, offering the lowest rates and the nicest personal. You can choose between 4 different packages and the place is located very convenient in walking distance to Kathib MRT station. The markers are standart and the whole place very professional. BUT the fields are small compared to TAG Paintball and if playing a normal game of Capture the flag, your round will be over much quicker then on the TAG field foe example. Furthermore the fields are kind of boring and "without love". No "real" scenario but just plain obstacles to hide. The whole place seemed to me more focused on profit (shorter games, means more customers).

Crossfire Paintball
Crossfire Paintball in Singapore Homepage: www.crossfire.com.sg
Reservations: 6792-6188
Tell the Cabby: Singapore Discovery Centre (510 Upper Jurong Road)
Nearest MRT: Boon Lay MRT
Prize: 48SD (40 Balls) (15SD for every 40 more balls)
Minimum Players: 4
Opening Hours: Daily 9.30Am to 5.30PM

I havent played at this venue yet so i cant give apersonal review. The arena is more like a "real" scenario and looks most interesting of all 3. You have actual houses etc and i can imagine it gives you much more the feeling of a tactic battle then just plain shooting. Your weapons are not guns like the other 2 venues provide but realistic M15 machine guns. BUT its 48SD for only 40 balls where you get 250 Balls for 50SD at Red Dynasty Paintball for example. Im not sure how they justify the price and i will probably have to give the venue a visit to get an opinion.
