There Are No Festivals In Singapore!

I know and learned throughout the last month of getting introduced to the culture of rock/pop concert evenings a second time for my life, just very different this time, that I cant and shouldn’t compare going to a concert in Singapore to going to a concert in Europe.

Concerts Are Different In Singapore

I recently talked to a friend and to my astonishment… he had never been to a Festival (like a REAL festival, Rock Am Ring, Chiemsee Reggae Festival etc.) before, no HipHop Jam and no 3-days-music-rain-tent-days… So i tried to explain the unique atmosphere, the feeling of 20.000 people camping at a muddy side between Dixi Toilets and mountains of Beer bottles, people falling on your tent during the night and waking up without pants, just after having chained your wallet to them the day before to secure your entry pass for the next days shows…

Now when i came to the point where i was trying to convince him of how funny it can be to roll through puddles of mud in front of the stage and poging your way back to the beer tent afterwards… i kind of gave up…

Please Be Quiet – I Want To Hear The Music

Knowing in the back of my mind that its almost revolutionary to stand up during the performance and clap with your hands here…”Psssst, i cant hear the music eh!”… i pretty much realized that attending such a “normal” Festival would be even more unrealistic, cultural shocking, for people then walking the staircases from the 1st to the 2nd floor instead of taking the elevator or even taking a sip of your Water bottle while drying out under the MRTs aircon system…

Now for those who are a little bit adventorous and maybe attend the next Spice Girl concert in the Indoor Stadium… please read the following :)
